Legal AID

LEGAL AID

If you cannot afford the costs and fees charged by a lawyer at the Court of Cassation, you may apply for legal assistance, provided you meet the financial and other conditions required.

Legal aid is not requested from a lawyer at the Court of Cassation, nor from the Bar at the Court of Cassation or from its President, but must be requested directly from the legal aid office of the Court of Cassation.

The conditions for obtaining legal assistance, as well as information on the data and documents to be transmitted, are available on the website of the Court of Cassation, via the hyperlink Assistancejudiciaire2.pdf.

Using the tabs, you can access

  • the Tableau, i.e. the list of coordinates of cassation lawyers
  • information about the Bar, in particular about its organization and training in cassation technique and proceedings
  • information on cassation proceedings, through answers to frequently asked questions (FAQ)
  • a section varia, including some useful links and legal information
  • an extranet, reserved for the members of the cassation bar and to whom a temporary password has been given for that purpose
